Dear reader,
My clients often ask me what the difference is between RESIGNATION and ACCEPTANCE.
Good question!
So, here’s a post about it.
It turns out that both words have very different effects on our personal development despite having the following similarity: they both imply giving up trying something.
And precisely That (subtle) difference between both concepts MARKS AN ABYSMAL CHANGE IN YOU, IN YOUR WAY OF ACTING AND SEEING YOUR LIFE.
Here are the 5 POINTS that I wanted to summarize for you.
1. First difference
-When I resign I feel like a VICTIM, I feel helpless.
-When I accept, however, I assume the situation and take charge of my life by focusing on what does depend on me. I feel more PROTA, I take the reins.
2. Second difference
-When I resign I feel IMPOTENCE , it is as if I were left without wings and without freedom of action.
-When I accept I see OPPORTUNITIES, OPTIONS, PATHS and LIFE beyond , despite the situation, which I assume I cannot change.
3. Third difference
-When I resign myself I do not accept the situation, person, circumstance. It is a “I have no other choice” but I don’t accept it like that, I would like to change it. Me enfado, me duele, no respeto que sea así. I FEEL CONSTANT ANGER AND FRUSTRATION.
-When I accept respect and simply do not try or want to change it. I recognize the situation as it is. I FEEL SERENITY AND LIBERATION, even if I am sad, angry, etc.).
“What is, is.”
4. Fourth difference
-When I resign I feel that THEY DECIDE FOR ME. Las circunstancias, las personas, la vida…. -Cuando acepto
I DECIDE how to act and respond to each circumstance in my life and with each person.
It’s a different approach. Do you notice?
5. Fifth difference
-When I resign my attitude is PASSIVE . It’s like a feeling of “I survive,” I endure, but there’s little else I can do. I feel defeated. I can’t be happy. It’s not my turn. They don’t allow me. I don’t allow myself.
-When I accept I feel ACTIVE in the face of the situation. I don’t waste energy trying to change my present or past fighting against something that may be impossible. I surrender to the situation with maturity and go through the pain, the anger, I forgive if that frees me, whatever it is, I feel naturally and I don’t rebel against something that doesn’t depend on me. I want to move forward and be happy. Period.
Powerful, don’t you think?
I know it’s not easy and some points require a lot of inner work. However, I know that:
A few shifts in focus can make big changes in the way you live.
